From the home office and around the fields

At the Hui we recommissioned Pip who is moving on from Tranzsend to join UN Women as a Women’s Economic Empowerment Advisor in Timor Leste.

As part of her new role Pip will be helping UN Women implement their policies on preventing gender-based violence and promoting women’s economic empowerment.

After almost eight years of service with Tranzsend we are sad to see Pip go, but we are excited to see what God has in store for her in her new role. During her time with us, Pip has been instrumental in the development and running of Tamar, an organisation that offers the women of Freeset health support, literacy and numeracy training, budgeting support, educational support for children, emotional support, and counselling services.

Below is a word from Andrew, Tranzsend Team Leader:

We are grateful for this opportunity to give Pip the time she has needed to complete her thesis much sooner than planned and with time and space to finish it well. We are all eager to get our hands on a copy! This will be a valuable resource for us and many other organisations journeying with women towards real freedom.

It has also been a privilege to witness our Lord at work in Pip’s life over this time. We are very excited about what He has next for Pip.

We recommissioned Pip at Hui this week, and it was a special time to acknowledge what God has done in, through and around her and the community she has been a part of. We continue to stand with Pip – she may no longer be part of our team, but she remains part of our whanau, and in our prayers.

We wish Pip all the best, and pray that she will be a shining light to all she encounters during her time in Timor Leste.

Thanks Pip for all your amazing work and effort!
