‘Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.’ The words of this hymn are as true for us today as they were 132 years ago when this was written: ‘Where He sends we will go. Never fear, only trust and obey.’ How is God leading you to trust Him today?

From the home office and around the fields

I was reading a report of the persecuted church the other day. In the article was a photo of a group of believers who were meeting outside in a park, as they were banned from using their church building. As I looked at the photo, my heart broke. I felt like I knew these people. They looked just like students, couples, grandmas that I knew. It was this small, ragtag group of ordinary people, gathered defiantly frightened, who are enemies of the state?

Does God care for them? Yes! Will we?

Remembering that photo, I find myself thinking too about those who persecute them. I remember the angry, arrogant face of one man in particular. Sitting there, leaning back, confident in his power, surrounded by his colleagues.

Does God care for him? Yes! Did I?
