When Josh and Robyn, along with their children Luke, Alex and Kate, were accepted to serve with Tranzsend in South East Asia way back in mid-2015, they never expected to be still in New Zealand in February 2017. Finally, the day has come. They will be commissioned by Wilson Street Baptist on 12 February 2017, and will leave New Zealand soon after.
Josh and Robyn will spend a year in language study in another city, before joining in on the work of the team.
Our team is working in a very spiritually and economically poor area. We walk alongside the handful of local believers, supporting churches and serving communities. We do this is many ways – providing educational opportunities to upskill people, seeking to develop new income streams for villages, discipling believers as they grow in understanding and working out the Gospel in their communities, and providing training to pastors. We have applied to open our own foundation, through which Robyn’s teaching abilities and Josh’s building skills and youth ministry experience will add to the skill sets of the rest of the team.
Over this long wait, Josh and Robyn recognise God’s sovereign timing. They have had opportunities to further prepare themselves as individuals and as a family; and as we look towards the establishment of the new foundation, we see that now is the right time for Josh and Robyn and family to go.
We are excited to send this family to join the work that God is doing in this place, and the rest of the team are looking forward to their contribution. Josh, Robyn, Luke, Alex and Kate need our prayers and still need some financial support. If you would like to know more, please contact Tranzsend
