It is our pleasure to introduce you to Carol, our newest long-term overseas worker.
It was a Freedom Encounter course in South Asia that started this journey for Carol. Freedom Encounter invites people from all around the globe to attend “a short course designed to expose people to the idea of using business to facilitate freedom- specifically in communities living in the shadow of human trafficking” . Carol has had an increasing interest in human trafficking over the past few years, and has actively been exploring ways in which she can be involved in seeing freedom in every sense of the word - physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually - realised in this world.
An early childhood teacher by profession, Carol will be instrumental in developing an early childhood centre that will be located at the forefront of the largest red light district in Kolkata. She will also be training other teachers who will go on to support children and families in the surrounding community. This is a fantastic opportunity for Carol as she shows love and care to those who are often neglected, abused, and exploited.
Carol writes “My love of travel has enabled me to experience a wide variety of cultures and places. It has meant that I have been able to develop and maintain friendships with people from all around the world. I have worked in the international teaching arena in Singapore (at an international school) and was provided the opportunity to work, teach and learn alongside people from around the world. I look forward to building connecting relationships with, and investing in, locals, foreigners and children.”
