Paul and Sarah – Making Moves Print E-mail
Thursday, 06 October 2011 00:00
The first year in the field has been something Paul and Sarah describe as 'a language bubble.' Many of the locals they met over this period were surprised and slightly bemused to find that they were language students, with no other significant demands on their time or energies. The language learning phase was deliberately low-key though, enabling them to focus on becoming acclimatised in a new culture and language.

However they have just made the move from training to practice. The shift into the city where they will be serving means a lift in intensity and intention for them. Paul and Sarah feel this is a return to 'real life' – walking alongside people who hold different perspectives and values, discovering what their lives are like and sharing in their sufferings. As they explore where God is at work in these areas, they hope to point such people to Jesus, the one who walks alongside us and leads us into freedom. With a new home and community, they have plenty of challenges ahead for their new language skills, but they look forward to putting down roots and seeing God at work in this setting.
