The fact that you are reading this means that you have more than just a casual interest in world mission generally, and in tranzsend in particular. That being the case, my guess is that, like me, you have times when you get really frustrated with those who have little or no interest in world mission. That frustration can lead to negativity, cynicism and even anger, none of which are particularly godly characteristics! Sadly, our negative reactions can often cause people to become even more entrenched in their lack of enthusiasm for missions. We need to inspire people, not frighten them off.
So how can we respond appropriately to those who don't share our passion for missions?
The first thing we need to do is to remember that the task of mission is God's task and that we are called to participate in His mission – therefore we have every right to be enthusiastic about mission!
Secondly, we need to pray that the Lord will give us wisdom to know how to inspire people towards His mission to the world.
Thirdly, share inspiring stories of what God is doing around the world.
Fourthly, encourage people to do a Kairos Course (or similar) so they can see that mission, both local and overseas, is at the very heart of God.
Finally, "PRAY that the Lord of the harvest will send more workers into his fields" Matthew 9:38.
May God encourage you as you seek to inspire others to participate in His mission to the world!
