PETER AND LYNLEY – RICE, GUITARS AND GARDENING |

 The rainy season has started, and the region has enjoyed more than usual. The rice paddies have been a brilliant green and Peter and Lynley recently had the experience of being able to help harvest some self-sown rice.
The Evangelical Church in their country has a goal of one million new believersby 2015 and the local church has been encouraged by a number of commitments in recent times, and the wonderful challenge of needing to find a bigger place to meet! In consultation with local leaders, Lynley has been helping with the development of a daily Bible reading guide to assist these new believers.
With the advent of the rain, Peter has been experimenting with vegetables that may do well for the hydroponics projects. His focus is on those that are usually more expensive to buy (currently bell peppers and lettuce)with the idea that the locals can grow these and supplement their income. Peter is also working with some land that has been lent to them by a friend and teaching locals about good practice issues such as composting.
