While on holiday Peter met a man who does organic gardening with a difference. He has small planter box units set in tiers that can be used for apartment dwellers. This has given Peter some new ideas for growing in small spaces, using enriched soil. The hydroponic plants at the church and the tomatoes at the centre thrived while they were away and the crop has been harvested at the church.
In mid April Lynley held a teachers' training course at the centre. Eight teachers from six different schools had a good time of learning together. She has written the resources for this as well as a full curriculum for ongoing use at the centre.
More recently they have started a high school class on Tuesday evenings, a primary class on Wednesday evenings and an adult class on Thursday nights. A few of the teachers want to continue improving their personal English skills and a manager from a large hardware store wants to be better at dealing with foreign customers.
