Peter and Lynley – making connections Print E-mail
Sunday, 01 May 2011 17:28

The events in Christchurch and Japan have resulted in some amazing opportunities for Peter and Lynley to share the words of Jesus, and they have heard from many former students worldwide, some of whom they had lost contact with.

They had an uneventful ride to and from Chiang Mai and were successful in getting a renewed work permit, as well as a good time catching up with old friends and neighbours. They are thanking God for increased competence in Thai language which has enabled significant conversations.

Peter and Lynley were invited to help at a high school interviewing students who want to join the special English course Lynley has taught a few times. The school is looking for well equipped teachers after a lot of problems last year.

The school holiday break provided a good opportunity for Lynley to prepare a teaching course for Thai teachers who teach English. They have been asked by several schools to teach but feel it is more useful to equip their own teachers. They were expecting about ten teachers and administrators to join the first course at the centre on April 18th. Repeat courses with different teachers are likely, and with it their connections into the community.

They are planning a school holiday programme during the first week of May.

Peter is continuing to develop the hydroponics way of growing plants, creating a show case plot at a local church, growing tomatoes at the centre and trying composting to improve soil quality. He is investigating the development of a propagation programme.
