 As you read this column Christians around the world are observing the season of Lent. Lent is preparation to celebrate God’s marvellous redemption at Easter, and the resurrected life that we live, and hope for, as Christians.
Whether or not we personally mark Lent in any formal way the challenge is there for us all to stop and reflect on what Easter signifies. The natural outflow of meeting this challenge is that our viewfinder widens to include a bigger world. Pray for our tranzsend workers, and the communities in which they serve, that during this time the words of God will be proclaimed and lived out, that God’s marvellous redemption will indeed be celebrated.
Any post 22 February news update stands in front of the backdrop of the Christchurch earthquake. May we, the community of faith, continue to stand alongside the people of Christchurch – focusing on the need for God’s grace, while celebrating the resurrected life which is our hope.
