PETER AND LYNLEY – A TEACHING CENTRE Print E-mail
Saturday, 12 March 2011 00:00

KalasinJust before Christmas, the team found a suitable building for a teaching centre. They took over the lease and keys on January 22. It is one room wide and three storeys high, in the same row as a local church and situated one lane away from the central plaza in the heart of town. The location is ideal and the rent is very reasonable.

After returning from holiday they cleaned it up – it had been used to store cartons of beer and bales of tobacco. This required much sweeping and scrubbing. A YWAM team in town completed the task by cleaning down all the walls in preparation for painting. It is envisaged that the centre will be a place where many things can be taught,  e.g. baking, sewing, soap making, playing the guitar and English.

On the second floor there is a large balcony where Peter will set up hydroponic systems. They have had some success at their various hydroponic endeavours and have met a teacher in charge of hydroponics at the university who is happy to help them with advice.
