On January 26 the team had a double celebration party with a cake to cut and eat. This was a celebration of both Ross and Cindy’s 25th wedding anniversary and of God’s goodness. They also took this opportunity to thank Roxy and Molloy from the tranzsend office, and Ross, for their dogged persistence and many hours of hard work in following through on the proforma application.
The cold weather is a bad time for those with very little, so John and Susan were grateful to be able to give two big bags of clothes that had been brought from New Zealand to Samuel, who works with sex workers and their children in the south west of the country. The business helps support a school for these children, and John and Susan are looking also at ways to assist in setting up alternative businesses for the women.
On February 9 John and Susan heard that Hope’s cancer has returned and that she has just a few months to live. They have returned to New Zealand to be with the family at this time.
