The Kok Borok Bible is due to go for printing in July.  The Borok people group, the largest among the tribal people groups in Tripura, now have the whole Bible in their mother tongue. This also makes a significant contribution to their literature as a major tribe in Tripura. The Borok (or Tripuri) people group with its sub-tribal groups received its first written material when the New Testament was translated by Brian Smith, Jong Bahadur Debbarma and Romesh Debbarma in 1973 – 75. Jong Bahadur and his son, Mark, have also been involved in the Old Testament translation and review of the New Testament respectively.

From the beginning the project has had the strong backing of the Bible Society of India and tranzsend has been involved from the beginning with overseas workers supporting the translators at various points. In recent times tranzsend sent funds to support a translator through a critical stage. This is a three way partnership of tranzsend, the Bible Society and The Tripura Baptist Christian Union that has seen a harvest of many thousands of people coming to faith in Christ, simply because the gospel is in their language.

In early May a Bible Society leader was in Agartala to advise and confer with translators working on Molsom and Kaipeng translations.

At Assembly 14 pastors and probationary pastors were ordained and about 6,000 baptisms were reported. Rev. Ngaituasunga Darlong, the new TBCU General Secretary, took up his posting on 26 May.

On 14 July TAICS will be commencing a B.Th. training course for pastors.  These pastors, about ten from across the state, are some of the less qualified pastors, some having come from among the ordained evangelists.  This course will be a challenge for the students and it will also be a challenge for TAICS to find suitable lecturers.
